Help! My battery is dead!

My battery is dead after not using the car for a few months. My keyless entry won't even work, so I have to manually use my keys to open the door. My friend had an idea to re-charge the battery. First, he transplant a battery from his car into mine, and after getting the engine to work, connect the old battery to re-charge it. Will this work? Has anyone had a similar situation before? What did you do? Thanks, I need all the help I can get.

Jump the ****** off man......why do you need our help? Is it REALLY THAT big of a deal you had to manually unlock the doors?

Jump it off, and go get a new battery.....

or you can buy a new one. I don't think that what you are describing would work, but I'm no car battery expert.

Yup, a drained battery will do that to you.

I have a better idea; How about you go to the nearest auto store, and get yourself a set of jumper cables and have him jump-start your car without removing your battery.

well this is a big problem my friend...after working on manually opening the door you have the daunting task of jump starting the car (of course you could always go switching batteries and whatnot but that would be too simple). option two...you could go and buy a new battery, and waste the $20 or so on installation (if you are not a complete moron you may be able to do it yourself)... and option three...that guy was right just sell the damn car and use public transportation. just kidding...no but seriously sell the car! im even confused by what i wrote.

Must be a west coast thing......they don't carry jumper cables out in Cali I guess

Imagine his embarassment, having to actually use the keys to open the door, OMG!!!!

What would he do if he owned a car from before about 1985 when you had to use the keys EVERY TIME?!?! And no power windows! No auto-dimming mirrors! Oh my God those days were such a PITA....I don't know how we ever made it to the 90's and the millenium...
