rear sway bar

this might have been covered 10,000 times but is there a noticeable change in the handling?? ive been around the import scene for years and worked in a suspeniosn shop dealing with race set-ups and alignments but never did anything but lower maximas. i dont know if im going to do any other suspension mods but if the rear sway will take the understeer awy from the max then ill have to do it. this car plows into turns to easy. well thanks ahead for the replies.

Yes... it's a "must-do"...
Cattman/Progress is best bang for buck, The Stillen may have an edge on it, but cost significantly more.

Gets rid of 'float'? Like when I hit a dip in the highway? Please tell me this is for real. I thought RSB only prevented the body from rolling during turns.

I want to get rid of the float in my GLE, but think I need springs/struts to do that???

(P.S. I have a Stillen RSB waiting to be installed soon)

it prevents roll but it also acts as springs. the car rebounds much quicker so infact it get rid of float.

It is the #2 Mod in my book.... #1 being the tires.

In the max on roads that have long curves, like a 2 lane highway through the wood, you will notice the difference. It keeps the backend behind you. I couldnt believe the difference it made when I did mine. I had the max for about 6 months before I did it. I actually forgot I had it on until I saw this post.

Addco is what I put on and it is the best bang for the buck I think. Either way you can't go wrong by putting one on.

Yeah, I am married as well so I know exactly what you are saying. I am personally working on a new firewall for my company and I need to have it ready by next week. A thrilling sat. night with a new Netscreen while the wife studies Organic Chemistry.... I should write a book about the "fast life"

The RSB works but not without consequence. If you're going fast on a curve and happen to hit a pothole, bump or a quick dip in the asphalt the rear will jump out more noticeably than if you didn't have one.

It's not life-threatening or anything, but if you're not careful it will catch you by surprise and depending on your reflex may overcompensate for it and lose control of the rear.

Do you concur that thr RSB will remove some 'float' under straight driving conditions? Mine is still in the gargage... just got some Pilots and want to wait a bit to see the difference.

Right - I second that.

The RSB will level the car tremendously, but it will also accentuate the one negative trait of 2k Maxima's rear suspension - the rear axle hop I once came fast over a bit of "roulette" and it got me scared - the rear end hopped like crazy.

If you drive almost exclusively on smooth roads, there is little to loose and much to gain by installing the RSB. However, if you drive on bumpy roads (e.g., gravel) you may want to think twice.

It is my experience that an RSB has a great positive effect on an othewise stock suspension. HOWEVER, once you have done springs and struts, the positive effects of an RSB ar diminished because it becomes something of a redudnant item.

FSTB is good w/ or w/o springs/struts, but an RSB may not be necessary with the right suspension. THis is NOT to say that it has no positive effect if you have your suspension done, but people who do it as a pre-suspension mod love it, while people who do it after they do suspension are less impressed.
