Sun roof problem

My sunroof is acting up. When I hit the slide switch, it moves about two inches and stops, I have to continue hitting the switch to get it all the way back. Also after going through the same process to close it, if I hit the slide switch one additional time it tilts the glass up.

If anyone knows what going on with it, your info would be welcomed.

Have you tried resetting it.

1) close it. and have the power (ignition) on.
2) Of the two switches, one slides and one tilts right. We want the tilt switch here. Of the switch, there's an up or open, and a down or closed position. Push the closed or down side of the tilting switch and hold it closed for five seconds. You won't get any feedback that anything has happened, audible or otherwise.

3) try it again. Might fix it.

ok, here's what you do. close your sunroof. unhook your battery. stomp on your brakes a few times. turn your lights on and off. (you're draining the power
in the system). hook your battery back up. turn on your ignition. tilt the sunroof
up, and then back down. now it'll work.

the reset procedure that was listed above isn't the same for the 5th gen as it is for the 5.5 gen.

no sweat. most dealers will NOT know how to fix that.
but they'll be more than happy to charge you $300 for a
new sunroof motor.

that same problem comes up every once in a while. it should really be in the
how-to section.
