I hate to be rude, since you are local. You dont own a Civic, or a Mustang, that have parts on the shelve ready for you to slap on and get 40 hp for an intake !......its a whole different game.....read up a bit more and school yourself. Come to the loacl west coast forums....we can help ya .

Thats ok, take it easy. Just dont buy a chip. They are useless. It would help if you told us what year Maxima you have, we can point you in the right direction as far as what mods you will need to get faster....
Hate to tell ya, but thats all that puppy will have. Maybe get Cattman b pipe, and consider a good Nitrous wet kit..and some Cattman Headers.....thats about as much as our cars have to give.

What do you meen by fooling the ecu? Thats a first......
The only thing that I know that can fool an ECU is fooling its sensors.
The ecu has temperature sensors and different sensors that read out the heat of the engine which can be fooled. This will just result in the engine going off higher revs like when its cold. Other than that, kloogy is right because I been looking into it. I know someone who had their 4th gen maxima reprogrammed and it did them no good.
A good idea might be the S-AFC by Apexi. The super air flow controller allows you to set the fuel/air ratio. Giving it a lot more fuel makes it go like no tomorrow but kills the engine.

can you elaborate a little on "kills the engine"? i mean, shortens the life drastically, ruins the internals? certainly voids my warranty, im sure. can you use a SAFC to a lesser extent, and go easier on the motor?
