Why do people buy 2K2-2K3 UR UDPs.....

...not 95-01 and then just remove the timing ring?

They are the SAME price and same pulley, just minus the ring/bolts which only makes it cheaper for UR. Main reason is that when you go to sell it, you have ALL Maxima years for potential buyers, so it's easier to sell.

Just wondering....

I didn't do it on purpose because I already had the 4th Gen one, but thats what I did.

PS Got my TS L-Spec Flash back today. Gotta love that 7100 limit. May try it out on Sat if I can get my plugs tomorrow.

This is what i did. I had it on my 2000 and just took the timing ring off and it works great on my 2k2.

Since you have to manually shift the auto to hold the gear to 7100rpm, wouldn't it be nice to have that "manumatic" mod with some type of shift paddles?

It seems to shift faster now at the higher RPM whereas before it lagged a bit before shifting. I am in the process of hooking up a shift light to make sure I don't hit the limiter especially when spraying.

With the manumatic mod, I would think a little ingenuity/RPM switch could make it pretty much shift automatically just at the higher RPM(not so high you bounce the limiter).

I got my SWA pulley installed on my 6th gen last night and the car definately seems to go through the gears quicker. Its weird, Not like gaining power, but when I shifted it seemed like the rpms stayed up more.
