If berk, franken, ingen, doesn't increase Hp, then why the heck do ppl buy them. I want to see the dyno results...

They work , they work better on mid to high end, there useless below 3k rpm. They work even better with a cat -back system.Just don't rely on this site for awnsers, there are other Maxima web sites who owners dynoed there Maximas and have gotten anywhere from as low as 2hp gain to 10 hp gain, with intake alone. These results are tried and trued all across the internet. Also don't forget too, all of our Maximas are not in the same condition too, you have some Maximas that are beat and some that are in sound tip top running condition,so that will effect dyno results to.

And to awnser your question, there all good in there own way, basically its up to you on what you want.

The stock intake is the best (with a few small changes).

unless others have started, place racing is the only company that makes
a cold air intake for the maxima.

and, as sr20den said, the stock box w/ some modifications is your best bet.

GAB right......i wouldn't say best, maybe better all around performer, because you don't lose low end. I raced my friend Maxima who uses the GAB setup, he slightly pulls harder down low,but he always loses steam up top, where my cars always shines and pulls ahead with my CAI or WAI, whatever you perfer calling it.

I like my Place Racing (true) CAI. Performance is consistent all the time. And I'm REALLY noticing it now that it's getting cold out...

Place Racing all the way- been on my car now for over 2 years. With the cold weather outside in the morning I have trouble keeping myself under the XXX MPH speeds.

No you have to drill a hole, and on 01s you have to modiffy the fuse box a little bit in order for it to clear. I think they didnt know that 01s have a fuse box in the location of where the pipe goes through when they made the PR CAIs.

Cattman sells their own intake that is pretty similar to PRs. I belive Cattman might have helped develop the PR CAI for the 00-01s and now they sell their own. I got my CAI from CustomMaxima.com long time ago, since then I have not bought a thing from them. Injen CAI is a crappy design cause it places the filter behind the radiator- yeah it requires no cutting, but it does just as much good as a Berk intake- its not a real CAI.

Place racing, cattman and K&N produce the best intakes for the maxima. They go through the fender of your car and sit next to your bumper cover.

They do not only sound great, but they get the cold air thats below the car. They are well placed to avoid getting dirty or consuming water.
