I've seen it done here before, but my tint guy swears it'll wear off since its outside all the time. Anyone have suggestions or results?

Other guys ahve said that painting the crome doesn't work, cause it comes off easily.

I blacked out my trim as well. You can see the difference below w/ my max and the other one.

Took me about 1 1/2 hours. I used trimbrite blackout tape, then i cut it straight down the middle.
Just take your time with the rounded corners and be careful how you trim the tape w/ the razor blade. I found out the hard way and cut some of my weatherstripping.

i used the same stuff. i didnt take as much time as i should have, and the drivers side came out crooked in some places, where you can see some chrome peeking thru here and there. i will redo it in the future, but for now it looks pretty good, much better than the damn chrome.

You guys think I should do this on my white Max? I can see why you guys with black would wanna do it, but I wonder how it looks on other colors.

What does everyone think?

it should be done on ALL maxs, haha, because the chrome is ugly. it will blend in with the weather stripping better.

Does anyone have pics of this done with tinted windows? Just wondering b/c I have tint and would like to see how it looks vs. no tint. Also, if you have a before/after like this one that'd be great. Thanks.

my windows should hopefully be tinted next weekend, and i will post pics up then, cuz i will have my headlights cleared and blackhoused too. as soon as i get them taken i will post pics, unless someone beats me to it.

btw, how does this stuff stand up to washing, you guys who have had it longer than me? since its been on, my car hasnt been washed, but it will be one of these days. does it come off with hand washing, power washing, or is it stuck on there pretty good?

Here it is with my tint (35%)

Holds up very well when washed. I noticed that it did start to shrink a tiny bit, but it's been on since early spring. I'm figuring I'll have re-do it about every 18 months. Not a big deal...it only costs about $5 a roll and by slicing the roll lenghtwise, you can get 2 applications from each full roll.
