i have 62k miles & bought the GOLD extended Nissan warranty up to 100k miles. took my car in b/c of acceleration hesitation & b/c car feels like its slipping when changing gears (auto).

Nissan said i need a new trans. & he'll call me tomorrow once he talks to his manager to find out if its covered under warranty. Anybody know if its covered for sure, so i'm prepared what to say. Everything under hood is back to stock except for FSTB which they cant claim that caused it.

oh yea they also said i need need ABS sensor & MAF sensor but thats covered....i swear this car better not start falling apart now

im thinking about getting the extended warranty,
but i dont know if the mods im planning to do to my car like
cattback exhaust, cai, and stuts will void the warranty..
Every time I give nissan a call they say they can not discouse
warranty info over the phone. should i just go with coverage and
swap the parts when going for any service?

From what I've been told by my Nissan service guy is that items like exhaust won't void anything (as long as they are installed by professionals). Any time I have to take my car in for maintenance, I put my OEM airbox back on. Everything else, I don't worry about.

Everything should be covered. The only thing is there is a $50 deductible for everything. Which isn't too bad considering your parts alone will cost you more than that.

Kloogy, just curious, what happened with your first transmission? I am having mine replaced by Nissan at the end of this month(Tranny slipped, and shifts hard). I have 46,000 miles on the 01 max. How is the new transmission compared to your old one? I am wondering if it's worth to risk of keeping the car after the new transmission replaced, thanks.

O ya, your tranny should definetly be covered under your extended warrenty.

Definitely covered from what I remember in my Gold warranty brochure. The engine and trans, ie drivetrain, excluding wearable parts like a clutch, are about the only things really covered besides major electrical stuff.

I'ma go get my wheel bearings repleaced finally- 100K miles on the OE ones, and they are starting to slowly get noisy. Also need to get the VIAS repleaced as it stopped working over a year ago but I been kinda bussy to bring the car into get it fixed. I miss my power. Warranty runs out for me soon so I need to get it all fixed, 50 bux and loaner car

My gears started to slip. I probably did 50+ runs at the track with it, manually shifting it, so that probably had something to do with it croaking on me. I had 50k miles or so on it when it went limp....
