My alternater died last night, itz a 2K Max w/ 75K miles, would it be alittle soon for an alternater to go bad???

And approx how much it to replace????

 

that happened to me and i went to a "nice" junkyard and got one for $75 and replaced it myself. I say nice junkyard cause they gaurentee their parts for like 101days and offer more warrenties.

 

Replaced an alternator in my 93 maxima - $165 + $85 core charge - granted i called every place in the area cuz i needed my car running the next day and was willing to pay for it, if it's anything like that one, it'll be an easy install, just don't try to do it at 10:30 at night :-p
ps. our alternators are rediculous because they're rated at something like 95 amps, which is alot for cars

 

mine went out just before 50k miles. paid 130ish for a reman.

 

i got the same problem the useful life is like 70k miles if you are stock... my car an Se 01 has 79k and needs a new alt..... My car is been garaged since a month ago and the alt went bad like two weeks ago.. it sucks but what the hell...... Pepboys carry them for $170.00 plus core.......
