Listen to this one.

Friday I brought my car to the dealer to have them fix the tranny shifting delay problem. I call them up later to see how they made out and they tell me that the tranny is shifting normal. Give me a break , that tranny has like a 2 second delay going from first into second. He said it is do to the intake and exhaust work done to it . Thats B S . I called up another dealer and explanned my problem and they tell me " well if thet dealer couldn't find nothing wrong with it than there must be nothing wrong". I even gave them the rite up on that TSB but they didn't seem to care. What should I do?

My 2000 SE does the same thing, only at WOT though. I took it to the dealer
with the alldata.com print out of all the TSB's on my car, including the shifting issue. The service rep told me the TSB info is only general info to use as a reference, not any kind of implied dealer responsibility check list. And furthermore, it would only be covered under extended warranty (which I did not get). I would be willing to bet that what they told me was a bunch of bull-sh#t!!

Nissan North America is your friend. One call to them will change the dealers attitude.

If you don't have an [extended] warranty, take it to AAMCO

Nissan North America wasn't my friend...... They screwed just like the dealer, but at least the dealer used a little KY.

Find a different dealer and try other ones so you can see which one will do it....take off the intake....the exhaust should be fine.

So my question is, can Nissan get out of fixing my 2000 SE auto tranny issue (49,000 miles on the odo) simply because I didn't get the extended warranty?

well the answer is yes and no. No they shouldn't because you are under their warranty guidelines. However, all they have to say is they can't get the car to duplicate the problem you are having. They don't have to fix something that doesn't seem broke. I've been through this with Nissan and screwed many times by them as well. My advice would be to take the service manager out in the car with you and duplicate the problem for them. If you can get the so called amster mechanic to go as well, then you'll have two witnesses. ONce you get it to duplcate demand it be fixed or you will report them to the better business bureau. IF they deny that there is a problem, you may want to bring an attorney along for the ride or even a parent. Someone that can stand up in court.

get your owners manual out and show them they are wrong, they are only trying to make a sale

I'm getting so p!ssed about this issue that I am considering getting rid of the max all together. But that still won't make me feel that much better because of all the money I put into this car.
