Squeaky noise...could it be bad struts?

the 2002 has 26,5xx miles on it. For the last 2k miles it has been squeaking everytime I hit a bump or a small section of uneven road. Also when I close the door.

The noise definitely comes from the front. The dealer fixed this once but it came back. I think they just relubricated the door jam?

I was talking to my friend and he said it may be bad struts. He said his old car (A4) used to do that and it was because of bad struts.

Could this be because of bad struts? or is it the door?

how loud is this squeak noise?....from you saying it makes the sound when you shut the door it kind of sounds like that noise that people get from the hood latch. do this...put some oil or something on the latch of the hood that holds it shut. just pull out your dipstick and use some of that oil if you don't have any

so you think it's the hood latch? I have motor oil in my garage and I will try that. I am pretty sure it's the door though.

If it's the struts...time to go aftermarket

same here

My car's front right makes a squeaky sound when i go thru drive-way dips. For now, it still rides and corners fine...funny thing is that it is absolutely fine and quiet even going thru rough roads or bumps but when i enter a drive-way dip, it randomly squeaks. Btw, I'm on Tein H-tech w/ tokico blues...blown struts?

No. Not blown struts. You'll know when you're struts are blown. It could be one of many things, wheel bearing, CV joints or strut slightly out of place. All of these issues have such similar symptoms that it's kind of hard to just diagnose it. I'm willing to bet it's a CV joint. CV joints don't act up when the car is in fast motion, they tend to only act up during very slow turning speeds (5MPH and less) and on rough terrain. I have a very similar problem and I also have a drive way that just dips down sharply.

Another problem is that it could be a loose rubber piece on the spring, but if it was, you'd hear the squeak (more like a whistle) everytime you drive. So that can't be it.

I also have Toki Blues, btw.

I just sprayed wd-40 on the drivers side door jam and also on the hood latch. The sound went away but now I hear the tires at high speeds

time to get better performance/quieter tires. OR just insulate the crap out of the car.

Here's how you test the CV joint... go to an empty parking lot and cut the steering wheel hard right and go in reverse (don't have to go fast, 5 mph)... then do the same with wheel cut to the left... you will hear a knocking noise if it's the CV joint.. going reverse puts the most stress on CV joints
