Lack of power tsb question

Here is the link to the tsb I am refering to
http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB03-023.htm

Is it possible for me to find the ECM part number or do I have to take the car into a dealership and have them do it? The reason I ask is because the TSB states "The ECM P/N is found by using CONSULT-II." I am just curious because I am having rough shifts and the Nissan dealer gave me the line "Nissans just shift hard and all is normal." The car did not shift this hard when it was new, and I think the tsb will apply, but they will not do anythig. I want to see if I have the old ECM. Can anyone tell me how to find out?

Thanks

It is possible to find the ECM number, I've done it, but its rather complicated. Problem is that your stealership can give a million reasons why the TSB doesnt apply, or service your car without actually performing any service, especially if you can't prove it. My stealership wouldn't update the ECM because there was no error code stored, even though they replaced the MAF, and there was a code before they did it. Reason is simple - money. They dont get paid by nissan unless they can give reason for the procedure they performed, i.e. error code. Also, if they fYOUck up and fry the ECU, again they are out of money for the new ECU if they cant provide a reason (error code) for the procedure. I am sure this is not really the case, since the TSB explicitly mentions it as a step in the procedure. I guess it would depend on how competent and honest your stealership is.
