Damn those Benzs are not that slow, they are heavy machinery this is what kills them. Probably an older RENNtech S600 without the Twin turbo V12. I peronsally seen a SL65 run 10.9@129MPH on slicks, and it was bone stock.

for the money i would not buy R32, for my opinion is overprice but HOT CAR!!!!
R32 exhaust is nice but sometimes fart, my friend test drove one. The seats are off to hook!!!!!!!

 

me and my friend have the R32 discussion daily. he has a GTI 1.8T, and would love the power of the R32, but the dollar amount for a Vdub just is too high. go for an audi at that price, basically.

i would LOVE to find out who was rolling in that max tho. it did seem like a relatively slow launch from the 'rex tho. it seems with a better launch, they might be closer, like what a few people said about their friends wrx vs. the max.

 

I have a 2k2 6spd as well as a 1.8t GTI 337 (6spd). The GTI only has an intake.

I drove the R32 about 3 months ago. Awesome Handling and performance in the corners. The car needs an Intake in the worste way. It was actually quite slow and seemed to really need some HP. I walked away from the deal keeping my 337 and saying that I liked it just as much and the added cost was not worth it.

I still stick by my decision. I will take the TQ and HP of the max for my daily and enjoy the VeeWee on the back roads on the weekends. See cardomain page for pics of VW.


On the Benz, that looks like the S55 AMG 400HP stock with SC. The guy prolly modded it and it squats a handsome 500HP now. I love the fact that the guys supra with all those mods barley caught up each time. Meanwhile the Benz did it in style.

I would still take the Supra though, costs less and more fun. I would be real touchy if I had a benz, can you say road march every time I parked in a parking lot....

 

Speaking of nice videos, someone find the video from SR20DEN when he smoked that V8 at the track. I believe it was his 11 second run. Just a shame to see those groceries flying out the back as he smoked that car.
