:grinno: NISSAN GAVE ME A NEW TRANSMISSION!!

I Have A 2002 Maxima With 18,000 Miles, And A Manual Trans. I Was Hearing A Whining Sound When I Gave It Gas, When I Depressed The Clutch Pedal The Whining Stopped. I Brought It To The Dealer, And They Tried To Tell Me That It Was A Tsb For A Clutch Plate Cover. I Knew Right Away That It Was Not, Due To The Fact That I Was Not Even Moving Or In Gear When I Was Hearing The Sound. I Told Them Not To Waste Their Time, But Nissan Gave Them The Ok To Do It, So They Did. Two Days Later I Got A Call, The Service Mgr. Told Me That He Had Good And Bad News. The Bad News Was That They Changed The Plate Cover, And The Noise Did Not Stop. The Good News Was That The Problem Was A Input Shaft Bearing, And He Told Me That They Did Not Have The Tools To Fix It, So Nissan Has Sent Me A Brand New Manual Trans. It Shifts Like The First Time I Drove It. Has Anyone Else Had A Problem Like This?

No offense...but how do you not realize it When You're Typing Like This? Don't You Notice You Keep On Hitting The Shift Button?

Damn! You're lucky! I've been trying to get a new 6-speed tranny from nissan for almost a year now. I've got horrible notchiness in my 2-3 shift & they insist it's ok.

I had mine replaced at 6000 miles for a whining sound when i was coasting, but it was gone when on the gas, nissans verdict.... improperly meshed differential from the factory, now at 22200 miles it whines when on the gas but not when coasting....... bad input shaft on new tranny? i hope not, might take it in over christmas holiday i dont drive it much right now..............

I have had the same noise since around 20k. Even though the claim not to hear the noise, they replaced the throw out bearing and later the wheel bearing & hub with no success. Now at 55k with the noise. What else can you tell me that I can bring to my dealer?

Thanks,

Bob

CAPS LOCK MAKES YOU TYPE LIKE THIS. Doing This Requires You To Keep On Hitting Shift.

Unless this forum has anti-caps on, where if the whole post is written in caps in changes It To This.

If you attempt to write the entire post in caps it will do that. Did you try to find out? But if you edit, you can post in all caps I guess.

I dunno, but i'm assuming it costs them a sh!tload of money.

I just hope that if it ever does crap out on me, i'm under warranty or i'm gonna "just lose it!" like Eminem says.

it just ticks me off that nissan will not stand by their products. i know my tranny has a problem, i've known it for a long time. took it into nissan god knows how many times, and everytime, same results. last time i by a nissan... good thing i didn't wast my money on a $2000 warrenty from them... because they don't fix anything anyway!!!

:end rant:
