Motor Mounts!

How can you tell if the motor mounts are bad?

If you get a lot of vibration when you're stepping on the gas. (Especially on the highway)

No vibration at all. I have a squeeking sound when I take off and don't know what it is. Thought it was motor mounts.

It could be something else as well. The vibrating is just one of the things it could do.

Does anyone know what this could be? When I take off, I get this squeeking noise. It sounds like it's coming from the engine bay. But while in motion, I don't hear that noise. There is no vibrating. I just replaced my stocks with illuminas and H&R springs.

I thought the same, but it's not the suspension. I installed the illumina's and springs myself. But it's been like this with the stock shocks and it's not that.

trance.....I had a similiar problem to yours.....But the sound is different....its more of a plastic on plastic noise....not really squeaking....and it can only be heard in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear.....And I'm pretty damn positive its my motor mount becuz when I jacked up the car and went under to check....my rear motor mount didn't look the same like the other mounts....it looked more "worn" out....like it looks like its been more abused and has more tear....

I am having this problem. At first I thought it was suspension related, but then I was able to replicate the squeak by bouncing the car at rest. It was coming from the LF brake rotor, so I pulled the caliper and pads to see if there was anything noticeably wrong. I made sure the sliders were lubricated and the shims were clean. Put everything back together, and the noise went away for a few days, but now its back. I am not going to worry about it now, because at least I know were the noise if coming from, but it is annoying.

That squeaking sound...do you hear it when you rev your car when in neutral. When you accelerate, do you hear a slight squeak before the revs climb and just before it comes back to idle, does it squeak again? How long is the squeak?

this is going to be the most convoluted thing you've ever heard...
i had this problem. my o2 se was just about to pass the warrenty mileage when i brought it to the dealer about this. here goes..
they put the car on the lift and pointed out where the sound was coming from. on both front steering...uh... u shaped things...there are these plastic caps. the plastic caps actually come in contact with metal when the wheel is turned all the way to either side and then is heard when driving up a steep driveway (for example). they replaced the plastic caps and greased the heck out of them and sent me on my way. "sorry, man. it's a design flaw. when the grease wears away, you'll hear this again." i hope this helps.
