Making shortshifter for 02-03?

let me know what u guys think.... im thinking about removing the safety for the
reverse(the thing u slide up to put in reverse gear). then, cutting the rod to a shorter height and putting a new thread on it... im willing to try.. give me some inputs..

that's not a true short shifter, the stick itself being shorter won't shorten the throw since it's lever isn't directly connected to the transmission. We have cables. I think someone did this already and got weird results.

I wouldn't mess with it, u might make it worse.

give it a few months and Nismo will have a short throw shifter for the 05 Altima SE-R. It uses the same shifter as the Max. They already have a suspension setup, CAI, exhaust and diff brake pads for them, plus other crap. I looked at the car yesterday while I was there picking up some pistons for my SR20.

I never drove a 6spd Maxima, I did a 6spd conversion on a 00 Auto, but never had a shift **** to see how far the throws where. I think SE-R altima shifter felt like my Maximas or 350Z shifter. I made my own STS for my 01. BTW SE-R Altima comes with Potenza SO3s from the factory !

I had it done, I took an inch off the shifter, re threaded it and also drilled a hole in it to attach the reverse piece. I like it alot and noticed right away a better shifting maxima!!!!
