0-60 and 1/4 times of Auto 3.0 and Manual 3.0 and Trans ability
Hey fellas, I'm new here and want to find out some stuff about Maximas. First, what are the 0-60 and 1/4 times of the auto 3.0 and manual 3.0s, and which trans is better if I want to modify it to get into the 13s, the auto or the manual? It may sound like a stupid question, but you may be suprised. Thanks alot.
If your gonna push our cars into the 13s your gonna need Manual.. and a new one at that.. our cars tranny cant handle it.. well it prob could for a little while with N02 but to do it with a turbo or supercharger.. Def need Manual acctually i think some people run 13's on stock tranny but def go with manual
high 14s for a stock 5spd 3.0L, dunno bout a auto since I don't care for them. With some weight reduction, slicks or drag radials with all the bolt ons you will do high 13s in the 101-104MPH range depending on the state of tune of your car- ie plugs, coils, maf etc...
i get from 0-60 in about a day and a half in my auto i30. btw is it true that 5th gens dont get as much gain out of a y pipe???? i know we get better results with headers than 4th gens but id think ypipe results would be similiar.
3.0s get better results from a Ypipe than the 3.5Ls do, 3.5Ls get better results from headers. Stock exhaust manifolds on a 3.5Ls are very restrictive plus they have a cat on front and on rear manifolds- close coupled cats, and by removing such heavy manifold/cats from the engine gain alot of WHP with headers. Some 3.0Ls came with one front cat middle precat in the Ypipe and then rear cat- Cali specs. Federal emission cars just have the precat in the ypipe, and rear cat.
