Look into the Eclipse 2454. Very nice unit and you will not be disappointed.

Qmax03, if you get an aftermarket setup, you'll have less of a headache in wiring everything up. I'm not that mechanically inclined, and I was able to install a Kenwood navi in both my old I30t and then moved it to my 2k2 with no problems. With an OEM, it might be harder.
Also, with aftermarket, you can watch movies and play MP3 or use satellite radio. With an OEM setup you only get navi.

You can still play movies through an external DVD player on a Nissan Navi screen. You need a RGB connector for it. I've hooked up plenty of play stations to MDX Navi screens or TL screens. The sound is RF modulated through the stock stereo. I thought bout bidding on that Navi screen, but if your car didn't come with digital climate controll, you are f-cked.

i've wanted one for a long time, and i have the digital climate control too

hopefully i'll win it and will install it with a writeup
Gotta have digital climate controll or it will not work. Plugs are totally diff on manual climate controll vs digital. Its like attempting to do a conversion from manual to digital climate- from a fiancial point- not worth it.
So as long as you have a digital climate control it will work? Doesn't it also need a DVD drive for the navi discs and also where do you put cds? Also would this go in an 01 without any problems?
I note that the unit listed on e-bay does not show the trunk mounted 6 disc changer. This is needed since when you put the nav system in you load the map CD into the unit (slot behind the screen). There is no changer in the head unit. The nav system is designed to play an audio CD in the nav unit head. However, when you're using this you can't use the nav system. The screen changes to a "virtual" CD player control using the touch screen.
I'm not sure how difficult it would be to drop in this unit even if you have automatic climate control. You'll have to dig up the matching CD changer somewhere and then wire it since I don't think non-navi's come pre-wired for this. You'll have to dig up this, probably custom, cable and connectors.
Nav system also requires a speed input. Not sure if non-navi's have this available or how hard it is to tap into.
Also you'll need nav discs. These are available from the vendor at $120 each and you need 9, yes 9!, discs to cover the US. Unless you're a cross-country truck driver you probably won't need all nine but most folks need at least 2. You can get these ocassionally cheaper on e-bay with out-of-date versions cheaper but still useable (I'm still using 5.2 and although there are some changes it still works well enough that I'm not spending $120 or more to update).
In summary, unless you have specific knowledge that this can be retrofitted it's probably not worth it. Being CD based it's not the best system anyway. If you're traveling between CD regions you can't do a direct routing and you have to swap CDs mid-trip.

speed input wont be too much of an isue,
navi discs i already have and i already have the 6 disc changer, although i wont be installnig it, rather i'll put in an ipod interface
like i said if i do win it, look for a writeup, i think it will be a very unique setup
