The 00/01 TS ECU has been out there for a while...

 

has it really? I know its been prototyped on cars, like larrio, but haven't seen many people on the board with it.

That's basically what I meant. I know people like IceY2K1 and Larrio have been involved in the issue for a while and that the actual ECU is in the works, whatever that means to the TS people. I meant that there's an existing prototype out there, not that it's widely available yet.

 

But Why? How Much More Testing Is Required Before It Is Available?

 

Guess it's not TS's main priority right now. Chances are many, many more G35/350Z owners will have the income and desire to get a ECU for their cars than 00/01 Maxima owners. So all their effort goes towards that type of vehicles.

 

When I called TS, I was put on hold by some lady. She came back on and said they don't have a ECU upgrade for a 00-01 Maxima, when I asked about a prototype she said they are working on a 02-03 Maxima right now and it should be out soon. I was like yo, U need to check yo self out cause there are plenty of 02-03 Maximas runing your ECU right now, unless someone is doing those on the side without you people knowing ! Peace. I guess no ECUs for us.

I take it that if they haven't done so so far, most likely they'll never get around to releasing it. Let's think about it, those are 3-5 year-old cars, 5spds are relatively rare (given they crack the ECU for the 5spd first), it doesn't sound overall like a promising investment for them.

 

You know whats funny is.... I can call JWT and have them reprogram the ECU on a 1984 300ZX.... how many do you think they do a year ? or a 91 Q45 ? Why can't they offer something to cars that are only few years old... not 20 years old. Its not like we are asking for a ECU reprogram for a 1992 Isuzu Stylus RS, we have cars that you see plenty off on the road.

most of the wait had to do with their tech tadashi being sent back to japan to decode new Z/G35 software, so I got stuck with the beta test program for a long time. They still have my original ECU and they better give that back. However, now that tadashi is back the main guy Danny is gone.... so its a waiting game right now. My ECU has been decoded and is back from japan

TS has told me that the maxima market has been somewhat stale in terms of sales, so I guess they aren't really looking forward to having masses of maxima owners buy their ECU. Apparently the 4th gen guys ran a GD a while back with 30 buyers and only a few ended up purchasing it

no i have called technosquare and i spoke to a guy there who said they have prototyped an ECU for a 2000 and were waiting for it to be tested. i hope to it works, because then there will be hope for me...

4th gener's are cheap SOBs :-D Till today no one wants to dyno a set of cattman headers for us to see the results on a 3.0L, and there aren't that many 5spd 3.0Ls out there anyways. Most people with 3.0L 5th gen do not go to the extremes of putting headers, turbos, SCs. Yeah there are quite a few of us out there that ARE into hard core modifications, yet there are tons of people out there who think some blue interior bulbs, and maybe a front strut tower brace are big mods. I think if the dyno charts showed a nice improvement over stock with a higher redline they would sell the projected 40 ECUs.

 

I have the technosquare ECU for my altima. And was very disappointed with the results of the dyno. A/F ratio was whack. Now I have the smt-6 piggybacked to the TS ecu to correct everything. But IU have just bypassed that recently because I installed the Nismo camshafts last week.

Has anyone here done cams yets?

Anyway, I got half my money back from Dannu because they didnt know how to tune a car with headers and added soo muchs fuel and timing its not even funny. I will never buy a product that isnt tuned for my car again.

 

Had my 2002 SE ecu done by TS 2 weeks ago-works great!!

 

TS has been having problems with the headers program on 3.5 maximas/altimas. The ecu is overcompensating by adding fuel. Its somewhat more complicated than TS not being able to do it right

 

I thought TS does the ECUs to the mods on your car....so if you change or add mods, the ECU won't work right.

 

the 3.5 ecu is really homo in the sense that it keeps over adjusting the fuel maps with headers (don't ask me why)

 

Lets just hope the 00-01 ECU aint like the 3.5L ECU cause it would cause problems. I just want the ECU for higher rev limiter. Don't matter to me NA wise cause I am going turbo.

THat is why tadeshi told me that to properly tune the car, i should get the the cheaper version, and get my car to a dyno to tune it perfectly. They said themselves to tune the car would be tediouss (take dynos send back and forth).


I will probablly get the the basic 300 version with just rev limiter removed and higher top speed.

 

thats waht i was thinking but wondered how hard would it be for the dyno to tune it?

 

I would pay 300 for a 7500RPM redline and no speed limiter.

 

and this would work on the gxe-gle-se models? even though the gxe has some crazy speed limiter at 110

 

hmm mine cuts off at 135 on the speedo- 130 watching the scan tool. With Apexi Rev Speed meter I have gone alot faster but I didn't know how fast I was going. It don't wanna work right with 01s. I got a GXE 5spd 01. Slamming the speed limiter at 130 is pretty violent, I think it would do 150-155MPH without a problem if I needed to go that fast and no limiter stopped me. Since I'm going turbo over winter- when my car is in storage, I will need to get rid of the speed limiter for sure.

 

Wait the speed limiter on a gxe is 125???? Mine maxed out at 110. When going down hill, i saw the rpms go to 1 just to make the car slow down.

i would love to buck 150+, when they do the fuel and air curve corrections do u think there would be a significant gain?

 

if they ever perfected the ecu with headers for the 3.5 i'd get it so fast gah

Would they be able to do a custom program for my supercharger? I would assume so since they do it for the 4th gen's. Also would this eliminate the use for the SAFC 2 or could i still use it for fine tunning?
