Does anyone know how to get rid of that yellow bug splatter crap off a front bumper? I scrub and scrub that stuff and it just won't come off. I have noticed in the past that after the car sits in the sun it will fade out these stains. Can I use bleach? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me...but I have never tried it.

I need to find something to remove it before I wax it today!

Bug Remover

Get yourself a bottle of SAFECUT from Waxshop. It is one of the mildest abrasives (typically used for plexiglass) and will pull off easily without scaring. Another product that can be bought at hardware stores is Goo Be Gone, make sure you buy the water based one (not is spray can) as that could eat cd covers in 10 minutes. (I tried to pull label off PS2 game, wow!!!) Needless to say, you should wash and then wax after.

Traveling hint: Take a rag and spray with wd-40, then rub front paint and hood. It will appear greasy but bugs slide off at first washing. Love bugs in FL suck !!!!

I have done it multiple times when we make our runs to Tampa or Disney from Ft Laud. Never any damage and local car wash cannot believe how easily they come off. Also, I have put Wd-40 on painted door jambs and other items for years without any paint damage. Maybe it was that coke from an earlier post !! If it can rot teeth, I wouldn't use it on my ride.... hahaha

Thanks for the info guys. I was just starting to notice some bug stains on my Max the last couple of days myself. I'll give some of these ideas a try myself.

You can really notice bugs on the front if you have a Max in Icelandic Pearl. But this color is actually very easy to take care of and looks clean when it really isn't.

Yup, that's the reason why I chose to get a white car even though I was really partial to the Sterling Mist and Grey Lustre. Lucky punks.

Love my Max!
