Air Flow sensor

Is it me or is it common for the Air flow sensor go out on these cars and also does anyone else have a problem with the coils, if so where can I get them for a cheaper price then going to the dealer, also a cheaper price on the air flow sensor. I heard it takes like five minutes to install.

Thanks

Mine MAF went at 92000. 2k SE. damn delaer wanted $375 to replace it. did it myself. I replaced the whole assambley, took me an hour. But if you replace the sensor only, then it takes 2 minutes.

From the research I've done, the MAF sensor going bad is a common problem.
Along with the coils.

I started a thread earlier about my 2k SE stalling when it came to an idle. Most people suggested cleaning the throttle body. I tried doing it, but the only instructions I found were for a 1999 and while they were very close to being accurate for a 2k, it wasn't the same. I believe the air filter housing needed to be removed in order to get inside the throttle body.
Anyway, long story short...I gave up. Took it to mechanic, who told me that they couldn't find anything wrong. Computer was throwing no error codes. They definitely noticed the stall (impossible not to) but had no clue what to do about it. Suggested I take it the dealer. In the meantime, I had alsot noticed, after driving it (it's my wife's car) that it had serious loss of HP problems. It was sluggish in accelerating. When punching it, pedal to the floor, it would not drop down a gear, RPM's would nearly redline at about 6500 and then it would shift into next gear.
So I took it to a different mechanic who suggested that it was probably the MAF. Said the fuel system was running lean and that MAF going bad was known issue on 2K Maximas. He changed out MAF and car is running good again.

I didn't bother looking for instructions on doing it myself, though after it was done, I wished I had. Paid $460 for the mechanic to do it.

I do have a question though...mechanic said that paperwork that came with new MAF said that it required re-programming of the computer. They said they were unable to do it themselves and I would have to take to dealer for them to do it. Is this true? Cause the car seems to be running just fine.
Oh...and I've got 60k miles on the car when the MAF went bad.

Thank you for your opinions I guess this is very common with these cars, I have the same problem it red lines before it changes gears, I guess I have to take it to my mechanic to change the MAF
