After having owned 3 maxima cars ('96,'99,'01) I have to say that so far the bad omen I have with the "01 version is the turning radius. It locks so early that I am always backing up and trying to menover around things. What the HE__ did Nissan do. Anyone else having the same problem??????????

Me Too!

i live in an apartment complex in Los Angeles, meaning parking into my small spot requires some maneuvering. my older car ('94 Mustang) i was able to maneuver into the spot w/ ease, but w/ the 2001 Max, it is such a pain in the ***.

My 2000 does not have a good turning radius. I, too, find myself manuevering around more than I used to.

Turning radius seems pretty bad for me too, but I never owned an older Max so I can't compare.

I never had an older Max, but I the turning radius on my 2K seems to be a good bit better than that of my '96 Firebird.

That was the first thing I noticed when I got the car. I think there is a reasoning behind that! Since they raised the HP on the 2K models reducing the turning radius will also reduce the amount of torque steer that you have. It does suck, but you'll get use to it.

Ditto that on the radius. My 2000 is terrible! It gives new meaning to the term "3 point turn"! In reality its more like a 5 point turn! But, Ive gotta say overall its a great car and the turning radius is its biggest glaring fault, and thats a pretty small complaint. But, the best part of the car are the deals that Nissan is making on them! I have a 3 year lease and pay $351 a month plus tax for an absolutely loaded 2000 SE 5 speed with a sticker of $28k! But, the downside is resale! Try to see what your 2000 Max is worth in trade after 6 months to a year! Ive been offered anywhere from $19,000 to $20,500! Yikes! The problem is that Nissan offers so much dealer $$$ that you can walk in and buy a car that stickers at $28k for less than $25k!

i commute to my college and i gotta park everyday in the deck. I have to make like 17 point parking scene. Everybody looks at me like an *******, but then again everybody knows me as the owner of the 2k black max gle.

Try to park a 1987-1995 Pathfinder, those 31X10.5R15 BFG A/T tires don't help the turning radius. You have to be great to make a U-turn on a two-lane street, 95% impossible.

That's because explorers... ESPECIALLY 2-doors have tiny turning radiuses. I have a RWD 94 TBird... its turning radius sucks. I had a 95 Escort Wagon... I loved the way that thing handled. It had NO *****, but you could go flying around a turn with no fear of losing control and turn around like nothing that was really a great little car too bad it was so underpowered.
