Top Speed

What is the top speed (governor limited) on the 5th gens?

I hit 125 today but I could've done better if it hadn't been for these darned TN drivers (cruisin in the left lane).

Why do you ever need to go 145mph?

what is the point of going that fast..if you ever lost control you would turn into a grease puddle on the pavement. and they would be picking you up in a shovel

the point in going fast is the same as the point in fishing, or skiiing, or anything else, you want to. the fact that driving fast is dangerous is merely something you need to accept, or not drive fast. Spirited driving is something I enjoy, usually alone, usually at night, and always in a safe manner. You must control your vehicle, and if you feel you can't, then don't go that fast. And if you say you feel uncomfortable over 80, then i would say you shouldn't really be driving anyway. I've seen people walk from a 130mph accident, in a street car, yes, and i've seen people killed under 50mph. it's all about the situation at hand. and by the way 148 is my new top speed.

You can get killed walking across the street. I check a lot of things before I decide to go 120+.

Americans are conditioned to think that these speeds are unsafe. Go to Germany and they would laugh at some of the comments in this thread. Any speed is unsafe if you don't feel comfortable or you simply don't know what you are doing.

Thanks for all the responses. Maybe I will see how fast this thing can go when all conditions are perfect.

you check alot of things before you go that fast? did you get a chance to see the speed limit signs?
see the difirence is....german cars AND ROADS are made to go that fast safely...and its legal...and only on certain parts of the autobhan where the roads are straight
you might know what you are doing (debatable) but what about the person who changes lanes in front of you? but im sure thats his fault right? cause he should have expected a car going 120 in that lane.

grow up before you kill yourself...or worse yet someone who just happens to be around you.
