The other way around: 6000k is blue-ish, 8000k is borderline purple, and 12000k is purple. I'd say 6000k is pretty much the best you can go for without looking ricey -- perfect mix of white and blue.Originally Posted by Ammi
6000K usually gives out puplish color. 8000K gives out bluish color. 12000K gives out deep puplish color (looks very very illegal). There are other ratings in between the ones I listed. Depending on what company you go w/, colors might be a little different.

what you think for this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33709
I don't know about where you live but around here, if you have fake HID bulbs, you'll get pulled over. They won't be near as bright as the real HID.
The extreme whites aren't as white as they should be, they do infact have a yellowish look, especially compared to the HIDs. Definitely go with super plasma.
Keep in mind that the Super Plasmas are coated so they mimic the color output of HID. They may look like HID, especially in pictures, but they won't be as bright as a clear same wattage bulb, that will look like yellow to you. If you are going for looks, blue is fine. However, blue will hinder the fog lights performance.

This may be true if all else is equal (like the brightness before a coating is applied). But are't the more expensive bulbs brighter than stock to begin with? Is that what PIAA means by "55w=85w"? Is it also why some people say their bulbs don't last as long?Originally Posted by ABDomega

uses 55W but light output is 85W. Some bulbs last longer than others even if they were made by the same company. No idea why.Originally Posted by pvaudo
