There's no REAL top of the line.

For the 5th gen maxima....The SE and GLE are available with basically the same standard features, but the SE suspension is setup for a "sporty" ride and the GLE is setup for more of a Luxury Ride. My SE has every feature available on the GLE that year.....

So SE and GLE = same level, high end.
GXE = base model
There is no 5th gen SL model, or GLX model.

Engine horsepwer is all the same.

Performance differs with the transmisson. (6spd vs. auto)

And engine.... don't forget there are actually two variants of the VQ in the 5th gen maxima and 3 transmissions, not only the 6th speed (which you are lucky to get 30k out of).

I second that. Mine, too, has every option available as well as coming with a factory spoiler. And with a sticker of more than $32,000 in 2003, there weren't many other Maximas (SE or GLE) that costed more or were "ranked" higher than my SE. Just look at the SE and GLE as variances of a great car.

GLE is the top of the line model, with the most luxury standerd setup, included leather seat, imitated wood trims, etc. SE is the sporty model with firm suspension with less standard setups compares to GLE. GXE is the base model.
