progress allumina question?

My new suspension was put in and now i here little noises when i hit any kind of hole in the street. Not a pot hole but any uneven surface. is this normal? The rear left spring doesn't fit properly on the allumina shock, the last ring is a little bit bigger than the surface that it is suppose to sit upon on the shock and my left front makes little noises and i also here little noises coming from the driver door. Does anybody have the same problem.

And is there a special way to get a wheel alignment when your car is lowered. meaning, can i got to any wheel alignment garage or to some kind of specialist cause it seems that even when aligned it still isn't perfect.

I bet you have a left rear shock for a 4th gen. Thats the differance between 4th gen rear shocks and 5th gen shocks. The lower perch is a different size.

This is the 2nd time you've posted that Progress springs "Give To Much Drop"... I'd like to hear your reasoning for that statement, because no one else, to my knowledge, has made the same claim.

Just curious, that's all... I know you're entitled to your opinion... I'd just like to learn more about it...

How does your progress/illumina setup ride? Does it beat you to death or is it tolerable. Im considering that combination. I love how it looks.

Go get an alignment. But before you do, double check your install to make sure the springs are sitting properly in the perch and everything is installed correctly.

Check all the bushing in the front. I think it mite be your control arm, Stabilizer bar, or your bump stops(may need to cut them) in the front.

And yes I have the same problem with my H&R spring, I just don't have the time to mix it.

That should help!

I have Tokico HPs/Progress springs... the drop is sweet... the ride is comfortable... except for mid to larger bumps and speed bumps.... highway driving has been good to far....

EDIT: I did not cut the bumpstops...

Yeah, did you trim your bump stops? That might be it.
I have Progress/Illuminas and no problems so far. The ride is great IMO. A little harsher over the bumps with my 19"s but otherwise fine.

1. are you sure the spring in question is not UPSIDE-DOWN? They are similar (but not the same) diameter top and bottom and someone not paying attention could install it upside-down.

2. did you put the spring isolators back on? I know some people don't, but you should! Without them, you will probably have noise.

3. everything torqued to spec?

uh oh, Joel you've had them on a week now and already getting defensive

no such thing as "too much" or "too little" drop....each spring has it's own advantages in both ride and looks and its own disadvantages.....

Josh...

I was just challenging the guy to see how he arrived at this conclusion that Progress springs are too much... I woulda done it whether I had the springs or not, I just like to hear the evidence and reasoning when people make comments like that. Besides... if I started ranking on your Maxspeeds or Home Depot mods, I'm sure you'd do the same, actually, I have seen ya do the same... and more...

Do you still have the boxes for the Illuminas? What's the part number for the rear shocks? If it's BU2905 you have a 4th gen rear shock.

I called tokico and they told me that from 99 - 03 the rear shocks are all the same. tokico told me that maybe its the spring that is two wide.

housecor.... did you ever hear a clicking noise once in a while coming from your rear shocks and did the springs fit perfectly on the perch of your alumina's?????

The noises that i hear is not coming from the front springs those are perfect but its coming from my driver side door and the rear left shock. I heard the same door noises when i had my 4th gen max and it was also lowered...
