To the dealer....
To the dealer....
I have a 2001 maxima. The tranny was giving me problems when it would shift from 2-3rd (A/T). It would jump and over-rev that gear then a belt would slip..wtf i know i know..theres a TSB for it. It was called "slippage."
Keep in mind my car as only 34k miles on it????anyway the dealer tells me we need a new transmission, its covered under the 60k warranty so w.e. i got some other minor defects repaired too. My passenger power window wouldnt work, and my trunk wouldnt shut right. Fixed now. I have never heard of a tranny being blown at 34k miles on any car? lol wtf? o well i want to swap and get a stick since im having to get a new tranny, thinking it would be too much trouble. Still cant believe i need a new transmission!?!?!

Did the dealer acknowledge this the first time itself? Surprisingly many people have had to convince dealers that the trannys are going...I've heard a lot of people on the org getting the tranny changed/fixed/rebuilt. Just hope the new one doesnt fail
I think mine is starting to go at 40k but the dealer said they cannot find anything wrong. All they have done so far is check for codes and a 1/2 mile drive. I can feel the rough shifts myself and try to point them out to the mech, but he cannot feel it. Granted, I drive the car everyday and have had it since new and know how it felt then and now. I have mentioned this to the dealer every oil change and have had them document my complaints every time I am in there. Hopefully if it does go bad after 60k I can say I tried to tell you several times and show Nissan the documentation and they will cover replacement. I doubt it, knowing Nissan, but that is the best I can do since they will go no farther than checking for codes.
