Check engine light is on

Check engine light is on
What's up everyone. I have a quick question. A friend of mine has a 01 Maxima SE 5speed. Which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. He has everything the GLE has (leather, heated seats, AMB temp, Metallic interior trim) along with the base SE Stuff (17in wheels, spoiler, and other stuff)
Here's the problem. He just installed a Stillen Air Filter, and now the "check engine light" is on. The funny thing is, I installed the same filter on another friends car and it's perfectly fine. I've noticed a few other people who installed either filters on CAI on their Maximas resulting the same problem.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem and/or have a solution to this situation?
Thanks

Try resetting the ecu...
#4
Hey there, I had my check engine light come on about 4 months ago and I had oil change and air filter changed and light went out for about 3-4 days and then came back on,been on since. it's most likely my immagination but I feel like the car is a little draggy since the light has been on. I have resisted taking it in to dealership for fear of being nickle and dimed over nothing. question, how do you reset the ecu?
