ECU error code

Alright. I have and error code that reads as such:

P0455 System Leak (Large) Emission Control

I loaded up on fuel the other day and I thought the gas cap went on screwy. Then the code appeared 1 to 2 days later. So I reseated the gascap and reset the ECU. The "Service Engine" light still came on. So either I didn't reset the ECU correctly, although I have done it before, or the problem still exists. Has anyone had this specific error code before and what was the fix. I know this is not a very specific code so any help would be appreciated.

Is it in the trunk or under the trunk? Just underneath the car to the right where the spare would be? The gas cap is on the driver's side and I know there is some black box thing on the left side on the inside of the trunk if you are looking at the trunk.

Just drive around for awhile, it will reset. Autozone or someone with one of the newer CAN bus compatible OBD scanners can probably reset it for you.

2K2+ don't let you just unplug the battery to reset anymore.

Ice, I have reset the ECU and driven around the problem is still there. Even with reseating the gas cap. So, it seems like it might be something else.

Acclerator Pedal.

I reset the ECU twice and the second time the CEL light didn't come on. Looks like it might have been the gas cap. Thanks all.

Not sure about your deal MAX0830. I saw a black box on the underside of the trunk on the driver's side. That doesn't look to hard to replace as long as the part itself isn't $500. If that is even what you are talking about.
