oil change?

oil change?

what would happen if u put 6qts. of engine oil instead of 4.3qts. like your suppose to?

You could blow your gaskets due to the increased pressure created by excess oil volume (that's what I have heard). If you added that much, go ahead and drain about a 1.5 quarts.

Well then, what if you added too little? Say less than 4qts?

The oil mark on the dipstick will be below the line...

it says right on the dipstick... low or too much... maybe sure car is off for atleast 10-15mins though to get an accurate reading

Oil pressure doesn't increase with the quantity of oil in the crank case. What happens is the crank shaft will hit and splash the high oil level around causing it to be airrated and foam. Thats bad because foaming or airratted oil doesn't lubracate well. Excessive engine ware can happen when that condition is present.

Drain the oil and put the correct amount in.
