how can u test if the shocks are good when they are off the car.....reason i ask
ive had gr-2 and tein combo since about june...recently about a month ago i had loud clunking noises from my rear whenever i went over train tracks going slow or large bumps...i went to my mechanic and he told me it was the struts.....I asked him why would my struts be bad if they have only been there about 4-5 months.....so i decided to buy new struts....sunday that just passsed i installed the Illuminas and the same day i had the same rear clunking noise that i had before....
bottom line is i want to know how to tell if the GR-2 are still good....if they are i am willing to sell them for a really good price.....

if you have a RSB it may be responsible for the noise. check for rubbing, and be sure the brackets are nice and tight. just my thoughts, i have heard a few people who have RSB say that they have a noise over bumps.

try pushing the car down from the trunk area to make it bounce and check if you hear it, could be bad or worn bushing, loose bolts, even a bad bearing.
There isnt a lot of stuff back there so shouldnt take long to figure out
make sure u dont have stuff loose on your trunk.....I had a toolbox back there once that made a similar noise!

to be honest with you, i thought they would be a lot better but with teins and 18inch rims its hard to make an impovement as far as comfort....the handling is better because of the stiffness of the illuminas...if u go with s-techs id go with illuminas again...but for h-tech and maxspeeds gr-2 should be fine...the illuminas rebound really good...i would not suggest gettting the s-tech though for anyone that does not like to hear their dash shake everytime they hit a hard bump...

The S-tech and gr2 ride sucks. its bouncy as hell. if you are going to spend the $400 or so for the Illuminas, might as well pony up for some D2s

I already have FLT-A2s, I just need something simple/softer to bolt on for long road trips.
