Thought on Spark replacement

I just had a thought. I always wonder since I'm not due for a spark plug replacment yet since I have 33k miles on my Max. I would like to do them myself to put Super Copper plug since they are best even though requires more frequent change. Despite that they say Platinum doesn't need til 100k miles. I suspect that the electrode can't last that long that would proabably worn down to nothing possibly before the 100k mile mark. Those who have done the spark change, how do you get access to the rear bank facing the firewall to get to the spark? Since the front side is easy to access since it's facing the radiator side with elbow room. Seem like a b!tch to do

a 10" extension works well. A universal joint may come in handy to make it easier but it is not necessary.

Just did mine about about a month ago. What a pain, but it beat paying the dealer $279.

I'm about to change out the plugs on my '02 and was wondering if anyone knows the torque specs for the intake manifold?

Just replaced spark plugs on my 2k Maxima (67k miles). I am glad I did it. The old plugs surely had gaps more than 0.044, recommended in manual, in fact 2 of them had 0.07.

It took me about 30-40 minutes to replace all 6 plugs. Had to take off the accelerator wire to get to #5 (2 bolts that hold the accelerator wire bracket - do not disassemble it :-))

Nothing really difficult. Definitely beats paying the dealer :-)

Thanks guys for your input, especially you Pedro. I'm not too surprise about how much the gap worn down especially when they say platinum plug last very long but I don't find it credible.
