In-Cabin Filter
In-Cabin Filter
Went to my local stealership and they wanted $70 for an in-cabin filter................that's the filter only, no labor...........can someone suggest a cheaper source............I'll be dang if I spend that kind of money for a filter that I can change..............
If you don't want to buy a new filter, here are two good sights for alternatives that might be of help.

I also thought about replacing the original one piece but was told that it is easy to clean and will save money. (Also was told the new one may be two piece system). I picked up my 2002 Max at 27000 miles and the filter did not appear to be changed or cleaned. Lots of leaves and bugs. I followed the directions, washed it with dish soap in luke warm water and air dried it. Didn't take long at all. Good luck, Ed.

Do it yourself!
open your glove box there should be a sticker explaining how to clean filter I got a new one from the dealer before I noticed the sticker but the original fiter as paper & the new dealer iten is charcoal activated & in 2 pieces. Save money & clean old or buy new one & clean periodically. I also febrezed after cleaning air smelled fresher...

just buy the filter at http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=B7200-00005
it little cheaper than the dealer.
I replaced mine a few days ago. Bought it from DaveB for like $45. My filter after 45,000 miles was disgusting. I replaced it because I was getting a kind of minor mildew smell out of it in the humid mornings. I wouldn't recommend just washing it because I am not convinced you could get all the mildew out of it. IT just kind of sits there absorbing moisture for months and even years! Don't be cheap, Replace it and call it a day!!
if i'm correct all 2000 and newer have the filter capability in front of the glove box, however only 02 and newer actually have filters in the box, but you can put one in the older ones. as far as i know noone has found a filter from the factory in pre 02 cars. if anyone knows different correct me.
