bad radio reception

my 2001 max gets really bad radio reception and I've been told that I can't do anything about it because the antenna is in the rear window...has anybody else had this problem and were you able to do anything about it? thanks

check to see if the antenna fuse may have been blown (not sure if the fuse is separate), as the antenna is an amplified dual diversity antenna

also make sure that the antenna wire has not peeled or scratched off. if it is broken it wont work well at all.

you can get repair compound at auto stores. it will say defroster repair.
