Here is my post from last week for the Frankencar. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=353539

After having an OBX, a full catback 2.5 with Magnaflow muffler and now the Frankencar, I have to say the franken is my favorite. The Magnaflow setup pulled the hardest after 5,000 RPM, but the Noise and the drone on the highway and normal driving.... My wife actually told me after our last road trip that she would not ride in my car until I got it fixed. The drone is real bad on ANY open exhaust system. The Frankencar is nice and quiet and "Cop free". I have all the performance and NO ugly sounds. I honestly felt like a Ricer with the other two systems on, and now I feel like I put the right stuff on my "nicer" car.

I think the Frankencar and the Catman are relatively close. Both are great systems. I think Franken is probably a little more quiet and the finish appears to be a little "cleaner" with the polished steel. (not 100% sure) I dont think you can go wrong with either setup.

Noted that there is a cost difference between the two Catback systems. FrankenCar is cheaper than Catman systems. I've heard they are cheaper in their customer services too!

Ha Ha.... Funny Dig Vmax. But yes, they can be a little non responsive.

I know that Franken has units in stock because I just got mine and I spoke with them. If you go Frankencar, Contact them first. Make sure they know you are ordering and you will get it within 7 days. I did two orders with them this month and both came in a week.

I'd listen to this guy...

I might look into FC too when I have some money.... or maybe I'll just get dblrr's used muffler if I don't... haha...

I wish I knew someone around NOVA that had the Cattman. I would like to hear it and see it. I wish I could have seen both before making my choice, although I did like the lower price on the FC. Honestly.... I dont think you can go wrong with either choice. They are both built well and DO NOT sound like a fart can. I guess it will come down to personal pref.

The Cattman and the FC are quite similar in quality and sound, but from all the horror stories I've heard about FC's customer support, I'd lean towards the Cattman.

FYI...I have the Cattman rear section and am quite pleased with the added tone this muffler adds.

Are there any difficulties in installing the Cattman or FC rear ends?

For any rear-section/muffler work on our cars, the car has to be jacked up high... and I mean HIGH... if ya wanna get the muffler out or in without having to scrape it up or without having to take apart anything else. When removing the muffler, it has to be angled almost straight down for the piping to come out of the "tunnel" to where its connected with the b-pipe. Its the same putting it back in.

People have just said to use a lift or ramp, that's the easiest... other options include jacking the rear up over a loading bay or high curb.... using 3 1/4 ton jack stands while jacking it up at the axles.... and other creative ways....

If you're talking bolts... with some Liquid Wrench of WD40 you should be able to get em off, although mine were so rusted that the bolts actually broke...

So yeah, there are some difficulties installing any rear sections, not just Cattman or FC...

I have to agree with Puppetmaster, you do need to get the rear of the car quite high up in the air. I have pics on page 14 on my site that show how high the car needs to be.

I tried to buy the FC catback, but they never returned my calls or emails.

I ended up buying a Cattman catback, and love it.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I stole the big jackstand/axle jacking method from SEmy2k2....

And I haven't actually tried that cuz I've always managed to use someone's lift...

But I DID try to take my muffler out with a regular 2 ton jack and stands... and failed miserably...

It's one thing that most guys on the org. don't know about Frankencar. FC is a basic part-time job company. Everyone who work there has a day job, and they use FC for part-time use only.

This is what Scott(who works there) told me.

And yes, they have a bad history with customer service. I too had a problem, they lost my order form for my catback.!!! It took 1 month to for the catback to come.

But funny thing is, when I order my intake, it only took a week!!!

Go with Cattman, and call it a day.

I tried so many ways to get my car high enough. In the end they all faild and a $20 slip to a Mobil station mechanic got it up on a lift and done in 5 minutes.

Now I just go to him whenever I need my car up. He takes care of me. Basically if you dont have a lift in your garage, just save the time and find a gas station to do it. NEVER go to midas, they will want $100 just to put it on, and that is just Grand Larceny.

Where is this wonderful Mobil station you speak of?

I might need it when I put in my y-pipe and if I do end up swapping out my muffler...
