I have a 01 max se, and when I'm on the highway cruisin around 65 I can hear a very slight whistle. Sounds like its coming form the stock intake. Actually the whistle only happens when I slightly press on the gas to accelerate(very slight, I dont even shift out of overdrive). I was wondering if anyone else has this noise, and is it normal. I plan on getting a Berk intake soon, so that might change things, although short ram intakes also have a slight whistle. Thanks

 

Yes, normal. I had exactly that with my Stillen POP.

Place Racing is the only CAI and makes the least noise except stock.

 

ok.. not to be mean or anything but isnt there like 3 other posts on this topic?? but ohh well whatever... the whistle you hear is the air going above/around the EGR tube.. if you have ever taken appart your throttle body and look in the intake manifold you will see it... thats what creates the whistle

Cali specs at least 2001s don't have that tube.
