It is pretty quiet you can hardly notice, just a bit of hiss under full throtle. Now if you put an after market muffler its very loud. An aftermarket muffler with stock YPipe its OK, but you wont get the extra HP. I did this test already. I have a Stillen YPipe.

I have a Sillen YPipe (New Generation) its quiet, no problem, I think that basically they're both the same. I tried a RT Cat made for 1999 Maximas since they havent made for our Y2K yet and didin't notice any improvement in ET's, besides since RT Cat is an universal Cat it doesn't seals well at the flange and tends to leak. If they ever make an specific Cat for the Y2K then Ill buy one,and this could be easy for them. We should call them and ask for it, their phone is at the Web.

Hy Rocken,I have tried all this combos and have spent lots of $$$$already and want to share my experinced with you guys. They claim that the YPipe will give you 15-20 HP, I was expecting a Big diference but its not, it helps though and will give you abou 1/10 for the 1/4 mile. You know how much is 1/10 ? its like 1/2 a car length thats it. The same happen to me with the fu... CAI it was suposed to help a lot and it didin't, it only growls nice and you have to sweat your *** out to install the thing, according to Stillen, Maximas dont improve to much with the CAI System, its better with the Stock Air Box or Hyflow POP Filters even if they suck hot air under the hood. Im waiting for this combo to see what happens, hope this help.

Dude I got barely any additional noise -- the main noise I get from mine is like a little putt-putt when at very low speeds (like a tiny exhaust leak I can't seem to fix no matter how hard I try) and also in reverse a little putt-putt.

But no major extra noise, car sounds fine.

later,
/aac
