need help

i should of searched this but thought that i could get better results in here. my question is...one of my hid bulbs went out. well not really, i dont know what the problems is. when i got to school today i noticed that one of my hid's isnt on. so i am like wtf?!?!? so i just figured its burnt out. now when i got out of class, i start jiggling it and when my buddy turns it own it flickered. told him to turn it of and it flickers again. so i dont know what the problem is. now if i have to buy a new pair of bulbs, i dont know which ones to get. i remember reading awhile back ago something about d2r or something like that. well appreciate the help. i have the stock hid on my 03 maxima.

If it's flickering my guess is it's the wiring.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think stock HIDs "burn out."

Don't these the HIDs use a capacitor like a flouresent light? If thats the case, change the ballist. sounds like it's dead.

that is what i thought too. the thing is no one has messed with the headlight, not even myself. when i was messing with it today to see if it had burnt out, then my friend and i notice that it flickered for a bout a sec.

Wait...you have an '03 maxima with stock HIDs... BRING IT TO A DEALER.

The bulb doesn't burn out and if it's the ballast they should replace it under warranty.

The ballast is what makes a non-filament light... well, light.

Thats a rip off dont do it. Its either your wiring or your ballast. If you can take the other ballast and hook it up to the side and power it on if it goes on then you know its your ballast, if not wiring, i doubt its the bulb.

Go to a junk yard and get everything from the headlight back to the wiring harness and do it yourself. It's about 6 screws, some clips and a plug and you're done.
