Rear Brake Change...I know I'm stupid

Ok...I can't get the E-Brake cable off the caliper, and without doing that I can't get in there to change the pads. How do you get off that e-brake cable. The Haynes manual said to remove the clip, but it does not feel as though it wants to come off easily and I don't want to screw anything up more than it already is. Thanks so much.

I apologize for this annoying post, but the search feature is disabled for me and I couldn't search the forum for any help. Thanks again.

Take the bracket off that holds the cable to the trailing arm of the rear suspension and you'll have enough play to get the caliper off. You don't have to take the cable off the caliper if you take that bracket off. A 10mm bolt holds it on and it will give you enough play to get the calipers off and change your pads.

If you changed the rears, your emergency brake may be dragging. If you did not fully bottom out the caliper piston, it could possibly cause what you describe. Was it hard to get your calipers back onto the rotors?

removing the holder will do it... butt you could always twist on the bolt that sits on top of it and makes the arm move back so you can remove it... much easier, i lerned this on the second wheel my self, i did it the other way the first time
