Eibach Spring Compression
Eibach Spring Compression
I put Illuminas on my 03 Saturday. The first one I did was the right rear. It seems like I compressed the spring too much while changing the strut because it doesn't want to sit with any pressure on the perch and makes funky noises. Anyone ever as dumb as I? Is there any solultion to the problem? I have Eibach Pro's.
I encountered the same thing when installing my Eibachs. I cut down a little rubber spacer which made the coils fit a bit better. There is a pic of what I am talking about on my site if you want to look.
What kind of noise are you hearing? Is it a kind of creaking noise? Mine did that too. I put some spring isolators on, gave the car some time, and I dont have the creaking anymore (dont know if it was the isolators or time).
I really dont think you should worry about the rear springs. The weight of the car will keep them compressed, and I have heard other people running into this problem as well.

I just installed my eibachs and illuminas a couple of weeks ago. Same problem. But it really isn't a problem. You just need to make sure the spring is seated correctly on the shock when you install it. The weight of the car will take care of the compression. I haven't had a problem yet. The only noise I had was when I initially lowered the car and moved it a little. Haven't heard anything since.
