SES Light on after cleaning Throttle Body

SES Light on after cleaning Throttle Body
I used the throttle body cleaner in the aerosol can over the weekend and now the SES light is on. I did everything according to the directions, however, the engine did stall on me once while I was spraying the cleaner into the throttle body. After the engine stalled, I restarted the car and continued to use the cleaner. I can't rememeber if the light came on right then or after I was completely finished.
I disconnected the negative battery cable last night and reconnected it this morning and the light is still on.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what was the fix? The car seems to be running fine, just that the light is on. Can most auto part stores (Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts) pull the code and if so how much is it to get the code pulled?
Thanks for the help.

With the 02-03 maxes disconnecting the battery won't reset the ecu. There is a procedure on how to reset the ecu here at www.technosquareinc.com

either way, if you reset it and it comes back on that means the problem is still there and you should get the codes pulled.

More widely known as throttle by wire on 2k2+.
Is that why you had th car on while revving and cleaning your TB?
The Pathfinder has a VQ35 with a conventional cable, as I'm sure otherVQ35's may as well, but the Pathfinder is the only one I know of off hand.
I myself don't know much about it, so I wouln't be of much help.
I will tell you what I think.
First off, for manual tranny people it's hard to launch because your foot is not directly connected to the throttle, as there is some delay in the response.
I've also read that Pontiac, doesn't mean Nissan does it, actually electronically tailors the throttle slightly more shut to smooth out shifts on the auto tranny on their new Grand Prix line-up during WOT.
And Technosquare, the company that re-programs ECU's for our cars claims that the flas actually starts closing towards redline to hurt power and discourage us from going to the redline as often s we would like.

The same thing happened to mine and they had to replace my entire thorttle body under warranty. Something about manually moving the butterfly. If you go to the dealer don't mention you cleaned it. Hope this helps

I took off my throttle body to clean it and somehow it shorted out.... thank god it was under warranty or I would be out 1K right now. I suggest to 5.5th gen not to touch their throttle bodies. They're not even dirty yet so why clean it?
You say your max runs fine though........ most people that get the SES had a high idle of 900rmp and that is what the SES light is from (idling higher than expected).
