Stock Stereo death

ok welp, my stock speakers are blown, what id like to know is if in the a pillar those vents have tweeters, and the speakers in the door are woofers, becuase i would like to upgrade to a better speaker, if there are just regular door speakers in the door im also guessing there 6.5" speakers

correct me if im wrong

those in the pillar are tweeters if you got a 5th gen. they are also patched in with the front speakers. so if you hook up the front spk to an amp or hu the tweeter will also work........

^^ please don't waste your money, please. non-bose actually isn't that bad and isn't worth tearing out unless you have GOOD speakers (i totally regretted gutting my stuff for infinity references, took those suckers out and got cdt's)

OEM speakers don't really have a true tweeter like aftermarket speakers do. On a 5th gen maxima they are just a woofer, but it plays full range, there is not crossover on it. There is a crossover on the tweet (the small little capcitor that you see on it). Aftermarket coax speakers have built in crossovers on them (again the capacitors), but some higher end coax's have external crossovers like most spearates do.

DO NOT BUY OEM SPEAKERS. You'll get charged like $150 EACH. You can get a pretty nice set of aftermarket speakers for $100-150 a pair.

Good luck!
