Defect in 2000-2002 Maxima Brake Light???

I have a 2000 Max GLE and its brake light keeps going out. When the car is parked, the back tail lights stay lit but when I apply the brake, only the left one lights up bright red. I already switched the bulb twice and the right one keeps staying dull when I press the brake. When I inspect the bulb, it looks fine. I've seen other 2000-2002 Maximas with their brake lights out too. Is this a defect or can someone give me input???? These bulbs are beginning to cost me a fortune!.

Thanks

This is the first I've read of this, so I doubt it's a defect...sounds like it's your car. Have you done anything to the brakes, brake lights, housing, wiring, etc? Did you add anything to the trunk (a sub, cap, speakers)?

You say you switched the bulb...when you do that does it work? Does it fail within a day? ...a week?
