3m clear bra?

After installing the 3m clear bra has anyone noticed dirt getting under the edges of the bra? Also is there danger in damaging the paint when removing the bra after it has dried?

Thanks
Chris

Yes, I have a couple spots where dirt got under the edges. I should've been more careful to tack all edges down tight with alcohol. And to remove the bra, you just use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and pull slowly. I recently removed the piece behind one of my headlights because I wasn't happy with the install job I did on that piece. It came off slowly with a hairdryer and left a little adhesive behind which I cleaned up with WD-40.

I have some dirt around the edges which I just cut off with a razor. I removed one with no problems to the paint (it's just like a decal).

anyone have a close-up of the line where the bra ends? I just had my front-end repainted and am thinking about the bra before winter hits here.

I don't believe you can use the clear bra on repainted surfaces. I thought I saw a post on this last month. I would call the manufacturer before you invest time and money only to pull up your new paint job.

I just installed one on my car and you cant see it from 5ft away. The closer you get the more you are able to see the edge of the plastic. Also light reflects a bit differently on the plastic than on the paint.

I have the clear bra installed on my repainted hood. I had to wait 90 days for paint to cure before having it installed (shop recommended). The edges of mine are tight and no dirt under the edges. In the right light there is a line across the hood, but not that noticable. It has saved my hood from many chips.

One minor caveat - after 1 year I have noticed a just a hint of yellowing on mine. And my car is garaged at work and home. However, it is warranted to never yellow. If it gets much worse I may check out their warranty claim process...
