My check engine light has been flashing three times and then stays on. Does anyone have an idea what needs to be done?

flashing typically means a misfire. in order to know for sure, you will have to get the codes pulled using some sort of obd2 reader. autozone offers free diagnostics in some states, you can buy a reader or take it to the dealer or local repair shop.
