Insurance rates

Hey guys, just wondering what everyone pays for insurance. If you can, post your city (not that important) age, how many wrecks, tickets, points, and whatever would effect it. Also, post what discounts you have and whatnot too, also who your carrier is. I figured this would be a good reference for other and noobs.

In your case.. don't ask.. you are 17 so your insurance is going to be really high until you pass the 26 ... so good luck.....

Also I have two cars and pay 1,200m and the ins cover is the highest on both.....

I'm 22 and have multi car, AAA and other standard discounts (airbag, wear my seatbelt) $2400 a year for just the maxima. And a perfect driving record too.

Yes, I know what insurance is like. I've got a good student discount, multiple car discount, good driver discount, and $1500 deductible and mine is $150 a month. Thats for my mazda though, I'm thinking about getting the Maxima.

Insurance rates

You guys may not be aware, but rates are extremely high on the Maxima not because of you and your stats but the Maxima is the second most popular car to be stolen besided the Cadillac Escillade for the last 3-4 years running. Insurers keep track of this and thats why insurance premiums are so high. What I dont know is is it the second most stolen car becasue it is a damn fine car or easy to steal......any car thieves around know the answer?

I'm 20, no wrecks, no tickets (knock on wood!), good student discount. I pay about $140 a month, with a really high deductible. I live in Oregon, and have State Farm Insurance.

The car is paid off, life is good

I live in florida, am 20 and have only a 100 deductible. Have had no speeding tickets but got in an accident about a year and a half ago that my insurance company ended up forking out $68,000 for. 2 totaled cars and guys medical bills. I was cited for the accident, I fell asleep while driving. Just a freak accident. Anyways, I still pay only 148 per month and like I said full coverage, 100 deductible. I think I get low rate because on my families plan and my parents have their houses, boats, and all cars under same insurance company.

Actually, it's not the car that gets stolen so much per se, but the HIDs on the 2002-2003 models. Those models get stolen more for their lights than the cars themselves. The insurance on the 2000-2001 models are much lower because of this fact.

Now as to answering the original question:
I'm 28, have a few speeding tix here and there over the last 5 years or so, 1 minor accident claim, and live in Washington DC area. I have USAA with a $500 deductible and very high liability coverage. I pay about $1200 a year total for my 2000 Maxima AND my wife's 2004 Mazda 3s (she has a perfect driving record)......but you really will never get rates lower than USAA with any other company....

I'm 19 in VA. I pay $186 per month with a $500 deductible(Geico). I have no tickets or accidents. I had state farm and for the same coverages I was paying $328 per month... Since the car is in my name the insurance is solely in my name also.

i'm 24 from long island, NY. one major at fault accident, 2 speeding tickets which got reduced to tailgatting, and defensive driving discount ($117 every 6 months) I pay about $2,600 per year with Geico or about $330 per month but it's weird with geico because you only pay for four months for your 6 month coverage.

Ha, no comment. Just check out page 5 of my Car Domain account here: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/640022/5

I have one ticket for doing 54.2 in a 25 in a Town and Country, but the cop was cool and let me off with just a $105 fine. I was happy there were no points involved. For the Altima, they did no investigation, just assumed it was my fault and I received 3 points to my license. One of the accidents in my Saturn was my fault the other was not so I have a total of 3 wrecks. My insurance is pretty high. One company already dropped me (Erie..they suck anyway, NEVER cover break-ins). I'm with Nationwide right now and they don't seem to be too bad. Anyone feel my pain?

Well, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it... but the 2 speeding tickets were not in my home state (VA) but were in MD and OH, so its possible that I don't have points for those.... the No Turn on Red was in VA though, and I know I got 3 points for that....

I'm not complaining....

$350, in the city, 28 yrs old,
IM NOT TOO PROUD OF THESE VIOLATIONS BUT HERE THEY ARE....
tickets: 20+ speeding, 3 improper equipment (once for foglights and twice for exhaust, 1 stop sign, 1 theft, 2 at-fault accidents, 3 driving under suspended license.
My insurance is going down slowly as my points are being reduced. These are the reductions I have right now: driving for more than 6 yrs, anti-theft device, etched windows, airbags, and less than 7500 miles of driving per year. Another thing that helps, if you know someone that lives in the boondocks, complete your insurance information as if you were living at their house(in the boondocks)...in most cases city=$$$ and boondocks=saving
.....and oh yeah, fight ALL your tickets!!!

but the Maxima is the second most popular car to be stolen besided the Cadillac Escillade for the last 3-4 years running. Insurers keep track of this and thats why insurance premiums are so high.
Actually, the real reason has to do with how ISO (Insurance Services Offices) recently changes the categorization of the Maixima and the V6 Honda due to the hp ratings. I am counsel for a large insurer which is how I know this. Any insurer which subsribes to the ISO rates/symbols will have the higher premium rate for these two vehicles.
