Just wondering.....

Those of you with a Stillen or JWT intake ONLY, what is the noise like?? Can you hear it under normal driving conditions? Can you feel a difference?

I want the extra power but not the noise. It's either the intake or OSCAI. Your comments are appreciated.

 

If you do not want the noise, then the quietest intake would be the OSCAI. At crusing speeds and revs you can hardly hear it. At high revs, the engine sounds slightly deeper.

 

I have the JWT and there is a noticable howl/suck/grunt at around 2000 RPM. It is definately louder all around. I like it overall, don't remember if I lost any low end torque or not.

The only problem I had with the JWT is that I couldn't get the support bracket to fit. I ended up making an L bracket with a slight twist and that works perfectly.

my stillen intake is LOUD! I loved it at first but lately it's been kind of annoying and I'm thinking of taking it out. Don't expect to feel a difference, even if it does give me 5hp there's no way I can feel that. Good Luck.

 

There is ALWAYS a LOUD hiss of the rushing intake air once you do the Stillen intake. Under 1/4-1/2 throttle there is a whistle and under full throttle there is a deep whine. The only noticeable difference, besides sound, is at higher speeds. The engine seems to have a little more power for passing or crusing at 80-90 mph.
