Currently I'm running the D2's with good success. Over the past few weeks the car pulls hard to the left. When I say pulls hard, I mean if you let off of the steering wheel your in the ditch. The funny thing is a few minutes later after making some turns, hitting bumps then it pulls hard to the right. Even funnier, keep driving then it tracks straight as a nail. I went to the alignment shop and they rechecked and said everything was in factory spec. I did lower it an other 1/4 inch a few weeks ago so thought that the alignment might be out. Nope it was in spec. So I decided to get a second opinion. I went to another alignment shop that also used a Hunter machine and he to said everything looks good. When I told him what was happening he looked at me Like I had been smoking something. My question is has anyone had problems with the pillowball mount sticking or not turning smooth? The car steers easy and smooth, but its odd how it pulls left, or right or tracks straight. Another though is the suspension geometry. I'm wondering if the lower you go, the angle that the pillowball sits in the mount changes and maybe puts tension on it. My car isn't so low that anything scrapes or rubs. Thanks for the input.

 

Have you lubed the pillow ball bearing??

 

I sprayed some WD-40 in there to see if that will do anything . I haven't driven it since though. What else can you lube it with?

 

Something has got to be loose. When you have the car tracking straight, jack it up and re-torque every bolt on the suspension. That might stop it from happening.

You should get the car onto an alignment rack when it's pulling hard. That should tell you what moved.

 

WD 40 is too thin. You need something at least as think as lithium grease. It has to be somthing that will provide some cushioning. The bearings are holding a lot of weight. Wheel bearing grease would do the trick.

 

my jic's are doing the same kinda thing, really only to the right, ill have to re torque everyhtin, but im prety sure my wheel bearing is fried too

ColdSHO can wheel bearings cause that kind of problem? What other symptoms occur when the wheel bearings go bad?
