They might look OK - you'd have to make that decision but you're paying a LOT of $$$ for this guy's ebay kit. A quick search on the internet shows 8-10K mcd leds - any color (I'd rather have white or blue) are avail. for about 50-60 cents each. Resistors - nickel ea at Radio shack. Fuse and holder - $1. "special holders" could be standard round LED mounting bushings. PLUS 36' of wire!!!!
Less than $10 in parts.
He wants $19 min bid + ONLY $10 shipping!!!! I can ship 40# of softballs UPS for $10. Your package will weigh about 4oz. More ripoff.
If you want to see how it looks, buy the stuff yourself and experiment in the driveway using a 9v battery to power the LEDs before you go to the trouble of taking off 4 door panels (yup - that's where the 12v will come from)
Which reminds me - his kit is kinda short parts - like 3 sets of fuse/holders. The only way you protect your entire 4-door installation with ONE fuse is to run all the LEDS from one 12v source (like under the dash), something I'd doubt you'd want to do.

i would think it could break easily. considering your sticking your hand in there and may hit an LED.... i dunno maybe im missing somethin about the install. i just looked over the auciton , didnt read 100%.
the only time it might be kinda nice is if it lit up (only!) when the dome light was on (like when you unlock your car from the key fob thingy) If I saw a maxima driving down the road with illuminated door handles, I'd hang my head in shame. Seems like a lot of work for something unnecessary (because I'm pretty sure you've always been able to find your car door
)
)
It's not bad if it only came on when you click the keyless to unlock the doors and then went off. Perhaps wire it to the dome light, as was suggested above. But I sure as hell wouldn't drive around with them on!
Thats what i meant, if i hit the unlock button twice maybe they would flash and stay on untill you close the door or turn the igntion switch on (thats when my dome's go off) i agree they look nasty if they were just on all the time...
How do they mount? It'd be nice if they were behind a plastic cover (like the lights on the door panel, inside, only reallllllyyy small) Which means, you'd have to cut a hole in your door somewhere, or something dumb like that. I'd be scared I'd bump it, or get too much water up there, and fry the thing. Also, the review said it was really bright. I would only want it to light up the handle, not make it some beacon, warning airplanes from 30,000 ft

for my taste. But that's just me.
especially if you mess around with different colors.
