CLimate Control...show outside temp always?

Have an '01 SE with the Auto Climate Control. Would like to be able to display the outside temp always, rather than the inside temp setting. Have tried pressing and holding the "AMB" button, or pressing it quickly twice, but can't come up with a a key combo that will allow the outside temp to show in the display..the inside temp setting always returns after 3-4 seconds.

Anyone know how to force the display to show the outside temp?

this is a timer inside the unit. dont mess with it IMO.

how inconvenient is it to hit the button? also temps dont change very rapidly so checking it once an hour should give you an accurate idea of the outside temp is.

if it always displayed the outside temp when would it display the climate control setting? this IMO is more important.

you are talking about a major electical change in display. not a quick or cheap fix for amatuers. you may be able to however show the outside temp in a seperate display if you tap into it somehow.

Maybe get a rear view mirror which has the temp. and compass on it, if you want to see the display there?
